Davidson of Dundee

28421 US-27, Dundee, FL 33838
(863) 439-1698

Davidson of Dundee, the famed candy and jelly factory located off Highway 27 in Dundee, was first founded by Glen Davidson in 1967 and remains a family business today. In the early 1900’s, T.W. Davidson grew oranges, grapefruit and tangerines near Dundee, Florida. Years later, his son Glen planted his own groves nearby. In the 1960’s, Glen developed a delicious candy using fresh-squeezed citrus juices and started the Davidson Citrus Candy Factory. Still run by the Davidson family, candy and marmalade is made the old-fashioned way – slow cooked in copper kettles one batch at a time. The ingredients are Florida grown, sun-ripened fruit from our groves and pure cane sugar from the everglades.

The Old Spanish Sugar Mill is a unique restaurant located inside De Leon Springs State Park since 1961. Customers sit at tables with electric griddles in the center and make their own pancakes right on the griddles. They are served two different types of homemade pancake batters, one containing stone-ground corn, wheat, rye, whole wheat and buckwheat flours and the other made from unbleached white flour. You may also order blueberries, bananas, peanut butter, pecans, chocolate chips, apples or apple sauce to create whatever sort of pancakes you choose, as well as a variety of other breakfast staples. The park in which the mill is situated and the mill building itself are now owned by the state of Florida and are part of the Florida State Park system
